This post was edited by Lancet_Jade on 03:46am I removed the d2data.mpq file and replaced it with another one, then I get the SAME error message but with a different file, d2sfx.mpq, I replaced that and then I get the same error message with different file, d2char.mpq which I can't find a replacement.ĮDIT - tried version changer with no luck either, I followed the readme EXACTLY and it says "Diablo II - Lord of Destruction v1.13c successfully activated" "press any key to continue. When I open normal diablo 2 game.exe and d2se "start d2" button they both open diablo 2 fine, but it's patch 1.14b. Then I tried changing compatibility mode to windows xp sp 2 and then I got the error, I then tried every single other compatibility mode and got similar errors (including with windows xp sp3) (administrator) Now when I originally started, I hit d2se patch 1.13c and nothing happened, tried this a few times (administrator) Installed d2se into c:/Program Files/diabloII (administrator) Made sure firewall is enabling d2/d2lod and specific d2 ports (administrator) Installed both d2 and lod into c:/Program Files (administrator)Ĭhanged compatibility mode to Windows XP Service pack 3( administrator) So I reinstalled yet again, (removed d2se and d2) I don't have discs, installing from bnet and it automatically starts with 1.14 Install from an old disk, then upgrade to 1.13 or 1.14Ĭheck for version changer for easy patch switching Its impossible to downgrade from 1.14 if u didnt upgrade from an earlier patch
